Creation. Her Passion for a Lifetime.

For Ioana Enache-Bordea (b. 1984), choosing a profession meant choosing a path she could follow with joy and full dedication. A path that opened into another universe — one where Creation itself is the guide. Jewelry became her way of working with herself: from the raw beginning to the finished form.

“My hands are my guidance; they spell the words I cannot find to tell.
I ‘see’ better with my hands than with my eyes. I look for what cannot be seen with the bare eye, and I translate it into jewelry. Every piece I make will eventually find its owner.”

With a degree in Architecture, Ioana first studied jewelry in Romania (2010) at Assamblage – Contemporary Jewelry School, where she trained in multiple modules and techniques, including Cire Perdue and Nunome Zougan. In 2017, she continued her studies in Florence at Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School and at Maestro Alessandro Dari Jewelry School.

Later, while living in Geneva for two years, she deepened her craft through a Drawing Jewelry course at David Craft Centre de Formation.
“The beautiful Lake Léman, the city itself, and the lush green surroundings inspired me to create and evolve my style on another level.”

Unlike most designers, Ioana rarely begins with a drawing:
“I let myself be guided by the beauty of the stone or the metal. I turn them in my hands, searching for their best angle. I let the Matter speak to me…”

For Ioana, the secret of true creation lies in balance:
“Great art is born in the alchemy between control and surrender — knowing when to shape, and when to let yourself be guided by a greater force.”

Since 2024, Ioana has been living in Zurich, where she returned to her bench and restarted creating at Schmuckforum — continuing her journey of shaping jewelry as both craft and inner exploration.
